All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-20

Who are we?
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age”
Matthew 28: 19-20
Local Outreach exists as a ministry of Central Christian church under Global Missions that seeks to send out believers, from within the church, to live and share the gospel in our city and communities according to Matthew 28:19-20. We believe that outreach combines the elements of faithful obedience to God’s command to love our neighbors as ourselves (community/connection) with the message of Jesus and His death and resurrection for the sake of making disciples of Jesus (evangelism).

How to get involved
Our desire is to equip, encourage, and engage those around us. This happens on a large church-wide level while others could be in small group settings with ministry partners like the ones listed below. And yet, each of them can be very personal to you; including things as simple as talking to co-workers, neighbors, or even family about the gospel. Outreach FAQs
The best way is to take more risks for Jesus, and you can start by doing it with a friend or having someone walk with you through the process of obedience to the call to be faithful to sharing the gospel.
A couple questions to ask yourself before you start are:
- Do I understand “the gospel”, can I explain it concisely, and have I put my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer.
- If He is my Lord, then am I living a life that examples my new and transformed heart and mind?
- If Jesus is my Lord, what am I doing to share this good news (gospel message) with others around me?
For more information you can fill out this form to connect with our Outreach Coordinator Tucker Davis.
There are many barriers to sharing the good news of the gospel (don’t know how to talk to people, I am afraid, I am too busy, I am not “gifted”, its not my job, etc…). None of these things can overpower or overshadow the love that the Father showed for us, and so we must love others like HE loves us(1 John 4:18-19). John says that there is no fear in love, because God’s perfect love casts out fear.
If you would like to strengthen your love for God, others, and the Gospel there are many resources CCC provides listed on this page.
The gospel is the message of the core truths that leads to salvation in and through Christ. Put simply, God, the Righteous Creator, is our Judge and we as mankind have sinned against him bringing brokenness and eternal death. But Jesus Christ, the Savior, has died so that sinners may be forgiven of our sins and raised from the dead to show He triumphed over sin and death to bring us back in right relationship with God if we respond in faith and repentance. (See “What is the Gospel” by Greg Gilbert)
There is much more detail in each one of those statements, but the 4 key components help us to build a framework in which to share with those we come in contact with.
J.I. Packer says, “While we must always remember that it is our responsibility to proclaim salvation, we must never forget that it is God who saves… Our evangelistic work is the instrument that he uses for this purpose, but the power that saves is not in the instrument; it is in the hand of the One who uses the instrument.”
J. Mack Stiles says it best, “We should never confuse meeting physical needs with sharing the gospel. Caring for others represents the gospel, it upholds the gospel, it points to the gospel, it’s an implication of the gospel, but it is not the gospel, and it is not equal to the gospel”. Evangelism is sharing the good news (the message) with the desire to see someone’s heart regenerated by the Lord. Outreach deals with both caring for the physical needs of those in our city, but all with the goal and intent of sharing the message of the gospel (evangelism) in hopes the Lord does a work in their heart.
