Summer Fun & Sun
Summer Fun & Sun is playtime for preschoolers! All children must be accompanied by and adult. We ask that only preschool aged children attend; sorry, no older siblings. Younger siblings are welcome.

Funny Farm
May 25 • 9:30–11:30am • Pavilion
Cost: $5 per person. Come dressed as your favorite farm animal, but keep in mind that you will be playing outside. We will have crafts and activities based on farm animals and there will be a petting zoo and pony rides.

Instrumental Strings Lessons

For 4th–8th Grade Students (younger students with 1 year experience, with approval)
Intermediate (1 yr playing experience): 1:00–2:00pm

This class is an enrichment course for those who have previously played a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello or string bass). This class will help students continue to develop their instrumental skills over the summer, and learn new theory and techniques for their instrument. Students will be responsible for providing their own instruments and music stands, as needed. Violins and violas will need shoulder rests, and cellos and basses will need rock stops. Sessions will conclude with a concert on Thursday, July 13. Space is limited to sign up today!

Start the Summer Off Right Math Workshop

Students will focus on computation and fractions through hands-on experiments along with practical application. A workbook is included and a special surprise will be given to students who complete the workbook by the start of school next fall.

Dana Oswald has her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and has taught for 10 years, with five of those years specializing in mathematics. She enojys researching and finding new ways to engage students and incorporate hands-on learning.


Book Club: Discussion and Weekly Activity

Get To Know Gaye Ruschen
Mrs. Ruschen, a teacher, wife, mom and grandma, earned a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education from Calvin College and Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI. She also holds a M. Ed. from Wichita State University with an emphasis in Early Childhood and Child Development. She has preciously taught Kindergarten, and K–3 Art at CCA. this fall will mark her 27th year at CCA. Currently, she teaches EXCEL Literature and Writing for grades 2–5.


Story Time and Crafts with Mrs. Ruschen

3D Designing and Printing for Beginners

The children at Blue Crayons Art Camp will create! Each day of art camp will find the children drawing, painting, creating, getting messy, and being exposed to line, shape, color, and shading.

Using high quality art supplies, the children will complete and take hom 2 projects each day of camp, and will work on a culminated project that will be finished and taken home on Thursday of each week.

Dr. Seuss Acting Camp for 1st–3rd Graders

The students will explore their God-given creativity through the work of Dr. Seuss. They will learn about acting, characterization, blocking, and physicalization. We will explore using theatrical games, and conclude with a performance of their discoveries. They will also think through and create various costumes and props for their performance. Tiffanie Cain had been teaching drama for the past 10 years. She has a degree in Speech and Drama Education and absolutely loves the classroom. She currently teaches at Wichita's Children's Theatre and Dance Center, as well. STEAM Maker Camp

Computer Science Camp

Summer Bible Fun Camp/FX

This year, there is a change to FX, our Family Experience. Our mission in Central Kids is to "Partner with parents to build the next generation of Christ-followers." FX helps the whole family join together in worship, learning, and fun seeking Christ together. The first two days of our Bible Fun Camp, we will have kids only (with lots of volunteers) as we begin the journey finding what it means to be made by God, made for a relationship with jesus, and made to love others.

On Wednesday evening we will serve the evening meal at 5:00pm, and continue to learn as a family where we left off on Tuesday. We will close out the week with one last learning time on Thursday evening all together and celebrate with our annual carnival! Please join us as we grow together and move forward in our journey seeking Christ.

This is a FREE event. Wednesday's meal is optional and costs $3 per person, or $10 per family. Fun carnival food will be served on Thursday during the carnival at NO charge. T-shirts are available for $10, if ordered by June 26.

4th & 5th Grade Summit 2-Day Camp
July 23–25  Cost: $100 per Camper, all meals included

We will continue our summer theme of Gadgets & Gizmos. This year we are going to Camp Haiwatha, located just minutes from CCC. We will have a wondeful camp ground complete with a new large swimming pool and waterslide, ropes course, adventure games, air-conditioned meeting spaces, and lots of outdoor space. Each day and night, campers will have large group and small group teaching time, crafts, recreation, swimming, and much more. It is a great opportunity to dig deeper as 4th and 5th garders.

Kindergarten Kick-Off

This event provides a fun orientation for you and your child, to the Central Kids' Elementary weekend programming; as well as meeting Vicki Ejibe, Central Christian Church's Children's Ministry Director. We will start the evening in the Chapel, then move to north Central Court where families will make and eat their own pizzas.

Each family will be able to make their own pizza and enjoy a night of fun. This is a FREE event! Registration deadline is July 25 at noon.
