| THE POWER OF PRAYING FOR YOUR ADULT CHILDREN, by Stormie O’Martian |
Leaders: Deb Shelly, Kim Welsh & Cindy White
Beginning Sunday, September 12
When: 5:00 – 6:30 pm Parlor Entrance #4
Cost: $12 for the two book set ( book and study guide)
|
Stormie O’Martian writes," When we observe life happening to our adult children in a challenging way we want to help them. But how much is way overboard, and how little is not enough? Only God knows the answer to that question. We parents of adult children may have many concerns, but not necessarily the opening to do anything about them, or even the opportunity to voice all of our thoughts, suggestions and opinions. At least not to our adult children. But we do have a grand opening to be able to express those concerns to God and invite Him to do something about them. And the greatest thing about that is, when we take our concerns to the Lord - trusting that God hears our prayers and answers them on behalf of our adult children- it means our prayers have power to affect change in their lives. And that gives us a peace we can find no other way."
Join us each week as we learn practical ways to pray for our adult children while also growing in our own faith. This class is open to all ages; whether your adult child is 18 or 50, the prayer of a faithful mother is always a blessing!

The apostle Paul wrote his first letter to the Corinthians in an attempt to restore the Corinthian church to its foundation—Jesus Christ. Come walk through these pages and chapters with us as we read and discuss Paul’s writings.

Isaiah is the crown jewel of Old Testament prophets, a book that strikes awe in the heart of its reader. Prophecies from Isaiah are mentioned in twenty-two places in the Gospels, Acts, and the Romans. The words of Isaiah were often quoted by Christ, the Messiah of whom Isaiah prophesied. Jesus, God incarnate, highly honred the teachings of Isaiah who spoke of the Holy One of Israel and how He dealt with those claiming him as God but dishonoring God in the way they lived. Isaiah shows us the destiny of nations and the future of mankind...including ours!

his fall we continue in our journey through the entire Bible with the book of Kings, reading it in chronological order, as the events took place on a time-line rather than in Bible book order. By doing this we will gain a greater understanding of how God’s plan fits together, past, present and future. Experience the Living Word of God (Hebrews 4:12) as the Holy Spirit writes His Word on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:31). Each week we will all share the new things the Lord has shown us in His Word.
