Saying goodbye to a ministry after 19 years is never easy.
As I pen this article, it is hard to believe I am writing a “farewell” message about a ministry that has been so good for Women’s Ministries for 19 years. That being said, a decision was made this year to no longer host our annual Market Square Craft Expo. As time changes things, it also changes ministries. Believe me, this decision was not made lightly. It has been prayed about for the past several years what we should do about the lower attendance, food sales, exhibitor participation and other issues that indicate the event is less effective than it has been in the past. I realize this will be a big hole in the heart of Women’s Ministries, but I also know God is in control of this ministry and we will not lack in anything because we believe God has a purpose and plan for Central Sisters. I, for one, look forward to seeing what it is.
I would like to thank everyone that has ever been involved with Market Square over the last 19 years; from those who came up with the thought of doing the show, to those who coordinated the first show, all the way down to those who helped in its final days this past October. You have blessed Women’s Ministries beyond measure and this fundraiser has allowed many women to attend events and bible studies, retreats and a host of other opportunities provided through this fundraiser. We have been blessed and will continue to find blessings in the years to come as we seek God’s wisdom in the direction of supporting our programs and ministries at Central.
