VERSE OF THE WEEK

For what I received I passed on to you
as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, that he was buried,
that he was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures,

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

AWANA blends Bible teaching, Scripture memory, and tons of fun as it
assits churches in reaching children with the gospel of Jesus Christ and traning them to serve Him. AWANA supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12,000 churches in over 110 countries. AWANA’s message to churches is simple: “We’re here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose -- to win and grow kids for Christ!”

Awana runs from September to May each year. Children must be registered before attending. Registration fee is $30 per child. Fees can only be waived if one adult family member per child is volunteering weekly with the Awana Program or a scholarship form has been filed and approved through Central Christian Church. Please call Bryce at (316) 688-4400 for registration information.

Awana starts promptly at 6:30 pm each Wednesday (unless otherwise noted on the Awana calendar). Cubbies will start in the A Hall, Sparks starts in the B Hall, and T&T starts in the C Hall. Be sure to review the Awana Schedule so you know where your clubber is during the evening.

Cubbies will be dismissed at 8:00 pm from their classrooms in the A Hall.  Sparks and T & T will be dismissed at 8:15 pm. Sparks can be picked up in Central Court and T&T clubbers can be picked up in the chapel. Please note that due to schedule conflicts there are a few weeks that the pick up locations will change (they are noted on the calendar).

We are currently recruiting leaders and helpers in Awana. If you have a passion for children’s ministry and can serve on Wednesday nights, we can use you in Awana. There are few ministries that are as rewarding as working in Awana.

Here's how you can serve the Awana kids without even being in the classroom! The Awana Clubs at Central Christian are currently seeking donations for their Awana Store.

The kids are given Awana bucks for Bible verse memorization, good behavior, and for other activities. They spend these bucks at the Awana Store to purchase items for themselves or their family members.   Some suggested items would be toys, gift certificates for stores or restaurants, CD players, small electronics, larger candy items, age-appropriate books, bicycles, etc.

If you are a business owner, have some business contacts, or want to make a cash donation, please contact Bryan Anderson at 788-6615 or Bryce Hutson at 688-4400. We really appreciate your help in providing some extra incentive to our kids to work hard in Awana.
